Position Overview The Senior Project Accountant will be responsible for full-cycle accounting for multiple real estate development projects, along with corporate accounting for two operating entities. This role works closely with ownership, project teams, and external advisors to ensure accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and efficient accounting operations. Job Duties & Responsibilities Perform full-cycle accounting for several real estate development projects, including job cost tracking, reconciliations, and financial reporting Supervise and mentor accounting interns, including training, task review, and workflow management Manage corporate accounting for two operating entities, including month-end close, journal entries, and financial statements Perform property accounting for a co-working space and a small portfolio of rental properties, including revenue recognition, expense tracking, reconciliations, and reporting Handle intercompany accounting, including recording, reconciling, and reviewing intercompany transactions between related entities Support project and corporate budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis Prepare and support construction loan draw requests, including cost tracking, documentation, and lender reporting Complete monthly corporate credit card reconciliations and ensure accurate expense coding Prepare, review, and file monthly and quarterly HST returns Coordinate with external accounting firms to support preparation of year-end financial statements and corporate tax returns Prepare and file annual T5018 information returns Prepare and submit annual Vacant Home Tax filings, as applicable Run weekly payroll, manage payroll requests, and handle payroll-related compliance tasks Prepare and file annual T4 slips and summaries Assist ownership with various ad hoc accounting, financial, and analytical tasks Support continuous improvement of accounting processes, systems, and internal controls Qualifications Bachelor''s degree in Commerce, with a major in Accounting CPA candidate status preferred 5 years of progressive accounting experience Experience in real estate development or construction accounting preferred Experience working with ERP accounting software Jonas Premier experience considered a strong asset Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams Job Type: Full-time Pay: $85,000.00-$110,000.00 per year Benefits: Casual dress Company events Dental care Extended health care On-site parking Paid time off Vision care Work from home Work Location: Hybrid remote in Scarborough, ON M1N 1T8
