When you work with friends, it doesn''t feel like work THE OPPORTUNITY Develop and update accurate standard costing. Maintain and verify costing data by entering, reviewing, and analyzing historical information. Update raw material standards monthly with forecasted costs from purchasing. Ensure running speeds and staffing levels are accurate in recipes and process specifications. Review purchase price variances and material variances to ensure Standard Costs and Bills of Material are accurate. Develop cost estimates for new products, restages, and costsavings initiatives. Partner with Purchasing, R&D, and Manufacturing to support cost approvals, labour variance monitoring, and postlaunch cost appraisals. Prepare and present weekly, monthly, and quarterly operational financial reporting, including PPV (Purchase Price Variance), labour variance, giveaway, yield, and production volume, inventory reporting, and manufacturing overhead expense analysis. Partner with the Operational Controller to support costsaving initiatives. Reconcile P&L transactions by comparing and correcting data (COS and manufacturing variances). Analyze expenses and prepare journal entries related to utilities, hourly labour, and inventory reconciliations. Support the annual budgeting process. THE REQUIREMENTS CPA designation required 5-7 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience in the food or meat processing industry preferred. Experience with ERP and cost accounting systems. Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word. Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail. Clear written and verbal communication skills. Ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines. Ability to work additional hours during monthend as required.
