As the part-Time Staff Accountant you'll handle everything from payroll and job costing to office organization and project support. You'll work closely with ownership, project managers, and our external CPA while supporting the rest of our crew behind the scenes.Key ResponsibilitiesManage accounts receivable/payable, payroll, and bank reconciliationsMaintain the general ledger and produce financial reportsTrack project budgets vs. actuals and assist with job costing analysisCoordinate year-end with external CPAs or tax professionalsHandle subcontractor payments, lien releases, and sales tax filingsOversee insurance auditsEnsure daily office operations run efficientlyPerform customer service and data entry tasksSupervise and manage office staff handling administrative functionsManage office supplies, equipment, vendor contracts, and insuranceOrganize both physical and digital filing systemsMaintain compliance with all applicable regulationsImplement office policies, systems, and proceduresAssist with job setup and contract documentationTrack purchase orders, delivery receipts, and vendor invoicesSupport scheduling and coordination with subcontractors and vendorsProcess payroll and oversee time trackingAssist with onboarding and maintain employee recordsEnsure compliance with labour laws and handle WCB-related tasksQualificationsDegree or diploma in Accounting, Business Admin, or similar3 to 5 (or more) years of experience in a similar role (construction experience preferred)Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage 100 Contractor, or FoundationStrong knowledge of job costing, WIP reports, and construction financesDetail-oriented with excellent organizational and multitasking skillsTech-savvy, with strong Excel and document management experienceClear communicator who thrives in a collaborative team environmentAbility to manage competing deadlines and keep things moving forward.Compensation & Benefits$30.00 - $40.00 an hour based on experiencePossible Hybrid PostionPaid time off and statutory holidaysFlexible work hours (some hybrid flexibility possible after training)Opportunities for continued education and professional developmentSupportive team environment with room to growReady to step into a role where your skills make a difference every day?
