This clinic provides healthcare for individuals and families in a community-based family practice setting. Patients can receive care from their primary care providereither a family doctor or a nurse practitionerand their teams. Services include general checkups, chronic disease management, reproductive and sexual health, disease prevention, mental health and wellness, and childrens health. Care is available to patients who are attached to a family doctor or nurse practitioner at the clinic. Hours/Rotation Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 08:00 18:00 Clinic hours: 08:00 16:00 This is a term position until May 2026 or return of incumbent Location: North Hills Primary Care Clinic #61-700 Tranquille Rd Kamloops, BC V2B 3H9 Salary Range: Salary range for the position is $74.74/hour - $82.21/hour. Key Responsibilities Diagnose and treat undifferentiated diseases and conditions, provide treatment, and prescribe medications in line with the Nurse Practitioners scope of practice and regulatory standards. Monitor ongoing care, order diagnostic investigations, interpret results, and develop tailored treatment plans to optimize patient outcomes. Establish care priorities, provide followup treatment, and communicate effectively with patients and families about diagnoses, care plans, and prognoses. Work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to assess, diagnose, and create individualized treatment plans. May also admit and discharge patients as per organizational policies. Prescribe medications within legal and regulatory guidelines, ensuring the safe and effective use of pharmaceutical treatments. Lead and guide other nursing and healthcare personnel. Provide education, supervision, and performance evaluations to support professional development. Contribute to research aimed at enhancing patient care and advancing nursing practices. Participate in initiatives to influence healthcare policies and population health strategies. Lead health promotion activities and screenings, focusing on atrisk populations to prevent illness and promote wellbeing. Facilitate interdisciplinary education through case presentations, mentoring, and collaboration in clinical and community settings. Support continuous learning and knowledge sharing. Develop, implement, and evaluate policies related to nursing, interdisciplinary care, and health system practices. Serve as the most responsible provider for patients in palliative, hospice, and longterm care settings when required. Adhere to Occupational Health and Safety guidelines to maintain a safe and healthy work environment. Ensure compliance with training and incident investigation protocols. Perform other duties as necessary to support patient care and organizational goals.
