Weissach, Canada's largest independent Porsche store in Vancouver is looking to add an Automotive Technician to the team!Reporting to the Service Director, and working cooperatively with all other teams, the Weissach Service Technician will be responsible to diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicles in accordance with factory and retailer standards while working to promote and maintain the retailers quality standards.Term: Permanent, Full-TimeNo. of Positions: 1Wage: $50 - $55/hr (depending on experience)Signing Bonus:$5,000Benefits: Comprehensive extended health plan including dental and LTDAbout usFounded in 1980, Weissach is Canada's largest Independent Porsche Sales and Service Centre.As a relationship-based business for over four decades, we have created a culture of excellence across all levels of our business. We aren't simply automotive enthusiasts, it's in our DNA!This is an integral role for the company, contributing to the growth and value of our company.Technical ResponsibilitiesPerform work as described on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with Company standardsDiagnose the cause of vehicle malfunctions and recommend / perform appropriate repairExamine vehicle to identify necessary repair or maintenance items that may not be included on the repair order and communicate to Service AdvisorNotify the Service Director immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined on repair order is not needed or if repairs cannot be completed by the time promisedClearly and accurately document all work performedRoad test vehicles as required or refer to the inspection technician as appropriateAttend and successfully complete training as required by the companyProvide apprentices and colleagues with regular and up-to-date information on technical modifications and innovations on vehicle post trainingProvide practical instruction and support for any assigned Apprentice TechnicianLubricate all moving parts with specified lubricants and conduct regular servicing as instructed and agreed.Inspect fluid levels of power steering, transmission, differential, drain and replace as necessaryReplace air filters and pollen filters as necessaryMaintain and promote an orderly workspace and ensure your work area and service shop are maintained with clean working habits and organization.Understand and follow all regulations governing disposal of hazardous wasteLogistical ResponsibilitiesMaintain the order and cleanliness of work areas, be accountable for all company owned toolsMeet all requirements of rules governing automobile repair and consumer protectionPosition Requirements/QualificationsPorsche Classic Experience MandatoryMinimum of 3 years experience with Porsche modelsOREuropean brandsEfficiency and timeliness in completing workComplete tasks on schedule with responsibility and accountabilityInterpersonal skills and collaboration work effectively with employees and customersCommunication professional written and verbal communication skillsAccuracy complete transactions accurately and maintain records and maintain the integrity of our DMS systemAbility to adapt to change take on additional tasks as required (e.g. urgent requests, teamwork, workload, rush jobs, new technology).Aptitude for learning and applying new informationEnglish, written and spokenWorking EnvironmentFrequently manage deadlinesRoutinely stand during work hoursRoutinely work with loud noise from the shopOccasionally lift moderate weightOccasionally work outside of regular work scheduleOccasionally respond to emergency situationsOccasionally manage stressful situations involving upset or impatient peopleWork environment necessitates proper personal protective equipment in keeping health and safety requirementsPerformance CriteriaPositive feedback from advisors and customers (no comebacks)Efficiency and timeliness in completing workDependability, complete tasks on schedule: accept accountabilityParticipatory/ Interpersonal work effectively with employees and customersContact: Please send your resume to [email protected] to Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.We look forward to hearing from you!
