Analyst 1 Equine Mrieux NutriSciences North America Location: Burnaby, B.C., Canada Position Summary This position is responsible for performing sample analysis in accordance with departmental standard operating procedures (SOP) and health and safety policies. The role includes sample preparation and analysis, maintenance of instruments, quality assurance, and participation in SOP development and audits. Essential Functions And Responsibilities Perform sample preparation (login and aliquoting) according to SOP and WI Perform sample analysis (sample extraction, batch loading and data processing) using documented test methods Maintain and run the ELISA, UHPLC/HRMS, LC/MS/MS and HPLC instruments as required Meet quality specifications to satisfy client and lab accreditation requirements Communicate daily workload and due dates with senior staff Ensure instrument and equipment maintenance and investigate problems, taking remedial action and recording actions to prevent recurrence Participate in SOP and general work instruction development Identify, communicate and record nonconformances to supervisor/manager Adhere to the Code of Ethics and the Code of Conduct Support and comply with all Quality System and Health & Safety programs Attend lab and health & safety meetings and internal/external audits as requested Keep work area clean, neat and organized Maintain training records and relevant qualifications Perform other related duties as assigned Communication Internal: Customer Service, Quality Assurance, Technical Support Groups, Human Resources, peers Qualifications Required B.Sc. degree in a chemical science or equivalent and a minimum of 1 year of laboratory experience, preferably in drug analysis Security Screening Certificate and Briefing Form at Protected B Reliability status (mandatory) Working knowledge of analytical instrument operation including HPLC, LC/MS/MS and LC/HRMS Experience with instrument software packages such as Agilent Chemstation, Sciex OS, Thermo Fisher Xcalibur, TraceFinder and Waters MassLynx Understanding of forensic principles including chain of custody Knowledge of Quality Assurance and Quality Control procedures Success Factors / Job Competencies Analytical skills; evaluating operational data Attention to detail; focus on operational specifics Communication skills; clear information exchange Knowledge of industry regulations; understanding operational guidelines Problemsolving skills; resolving operational issues Process optimization; improving operational processes Project management; overseeing operational projects Team collaboration; working well with colleagues Time management; efficient use of time Adaptability; adjusting to operational changes Physical Demands and Work Environment Regular standing, walking, handling chemicals and laboratory equipment Occasional lifting and moving of up to 25 pounds Fine motor skills for precise measurements and handling of chemicals Clear vision, color vision and depth perception required High work production in a fastpaced lab environment May require flexible hours, overtime and shift work; standing periods may occur Hazardous materials managed with safety procedures and PPE Repetitive tasks and occasional lifting and carrying Travel Minimal travel, primarily for industry conferences or collaborative research meetings Compensation Package Overview Hourly rate: CAD $24.90 $26.50 Full Time Eligible Benefits Overview Comprehensive medical, dental and vision insurance plans Generous vacation package in accordance with state and local ordinances Why Join Us?
