Duties & Responsibilities of Position Assisting lawyers with drafting for tax-driven transactions including the preparation of legal transaction documents for section 85 rollovers and section 86/51 exchanges, and the preparation of closing agendas and document lists Drafting detailed reporting letters on the completion of transactions and closing books Preparing corporate documents such as: Incorporations and organization of BC, Federal, and Societies entities Amalgamations Alterations Share allotments and transfers Redemptions Dividends Name changes Director/officer changes Change of registered and records office Preparing filings creation and organization documents for limited partnerships Conducting name BC reservations with BC Registry and Online Services Conducting Nuans reservations Maintaining Minutebox database including creating new cards for incoming record books Reviewing minute record books Drafting deficiency memos Conducting searches on: BC Online Corporations Canada Land Title Drafting routing correspondence with clients, lawyers, and department staff Performing conflict searches Sending minute books out for registered and records office changes Maintaining BC, Federal, and Societies filing annually Preparing BC and Federal transparency reports Maintaining Smartsheet databases for various projects The Ideal Candidate has A positive and upbeat attitude Excellent organizational skills with great attention to detail A self-starter personality Strong written and verbal communication skills An ability to work independently and as part of a team Required & Preferred Qualifications Successful completion of a paralegal program from an accredited institution 4+ years experience with working knowledge of corporate department procedures Proficient experience working with MinuteBox Experience working with Elite or similar document management system Experience working in a fast-paced work environment with quick turnarounds and efficient transaction handling Solid proficiency in MS Office applications Experience working with Smartsheet is preferred Experience with Limited Partnerships is preferred Job Details Job type: Full-time, 8-hour shifts, Monday Friday In person Salary range: $75,000 - $85,000 annually, depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal/market equity.
