Downtown Vancouver.You will appreciate this position as you can leverage all of your ASPE, tax preparation experience that you gained in public practice to be utilized in this industry position.Our client is a real estate company based in Vancouver. It brings a long history of success, and is one of the most prominent leaders in Vancouver in property development, property management and investment market. They are in need of a designated Accountant with solid 3-4 years public practice experience in producing working papers files and to manage and maintain the accounting for various groups of companies. Strong ASPE knowledge is a must. Candidates with strong corporate tax, partnership tax, T3s and T5s experience and with keen interests in tax compliance preferred for this role.ResponsibilitiesReview payments to vendors and contract reconciliationsReview monthly GST returns and bank reconciliationsReview rent rolls on a monthly basisReview monthly financial reports prepared by property management company for rental propertiesPerform monthly budget to actual costs analysisMonitor project cash position and review cash forecast in conjunction with Analyst and development managersPreparation of monthly project progress draws, review of quantity surveyor reports and correspondencePreparation of project equity cash calls as neededPreparation of monthly and quarterly reports and schedules requested by managementTrial Balance review to ensure the integrity of accounting recordsMonitor project holdbacks, including reconciliation and releaseFacilitate issuance of Letters of CreditMonitor loan maturity dates and assist with loan compliance requirementsPrepare or review journal entries as neededProvide guidance to Accounting Assistants where requiredReview partnership, loan and other relevant agreements to identify key financial componentsAssist with preparation of annual operating budgetsPrepare year-end financial statements and working papers for corporations and limited partnershipsDraft tax returns (including T2, T3 and T5013 etc.) for review by external accountantsLiaise with external accountants on Audit and Review EngagementsCreate reporting templates for new projects as requiredPrepare acquisition related closing entriesReview and maintain various accounting schedulesAd hoc accounting & finance related tasks, and general accounting supportThis client fosters and encourages career growth on individuals.
