ROLE PURPOSEThe Program Coordinator I will plan, develop, implement, and oversee the day-to-dayoperation of Connective''s Program(s) as well as participate in program development,policies and procedure formulation, program evaluation and budget preparation.HOURS (40 HOURS PER WEEK)Wednesday to Sunday, WHAT WE OFFER? Plans and implements program activities and special events. Makes recommendations to the supervisor regarding program development, policy and procedure formulation, and program evaluation. Oversees the day-to-day operation of the program(s) by ensuring that the necessaryfacilities and equipment are in place, program guidelines and policies are adhered to,and program standards and licensing requirements are met. Provides direct support services as assigned by Program Manager, Senior Manager ortheir designate. Monitors and authorizes program/s expenditures and maintains financial records inaccordance with established procedures. Promotes public awareness of and support for the program by performing duties such as producing promotional materials and attending community events. Liaises with community service providers and other professionals to coordinate serviceprovision, facilitate referrals to the program and represent the organization or program inexternal events. Maintains related records and statistics and produces reports as required. Along with the other residence staff, monitors and ensures effective operation of the facility,including quality control concerning cleaning equipment, indoor and outdoormaintenance, inventory, and food services. Provides input into meal delivery, including food inventory and orders. As assigned, organizes, and oversees the delivery of meals and involves the residents inthis process. On-call availability as required. Performs other related duties as required. WORKING CONDITIONS Functions independently, while remaining a crucial member of the support team. Adheres to Connective policies and procedures. Transports self, staff, volunteers, and others with a reliable vehicle throughout theareas, including remote locations and correctional facilities as needed. Is a member of CUPE local EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS A university Degree or diploma in a relevant branch of the Behavioural Sciences withan emphasis on Social Work, Sociology, and/or Psychology Two (2) years recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education,training, and experience Experience with clients with a history of conflict with the law, developmentaldisabilities and/or spectrum disorders, experiencing homelessness, interaction withsocial agencies and experiencing mental health challenges Ability to be comfortable interacting with persons who have been involved in thecriminal justice system and/or are high risk/high needs/high profile individuals Demonstrated competence in identifying, approaching and securing both short- andlong-term funding from appropriate sources Knowledge of government and community justice services A strong ability to work with persons in crisis and persons who are disconnected fromtheir support network Experience in and comfort with public speaking Knowledge of word processing Experience with supporting individuals with developmental disabilities Experience with facilitating, creating, and/or running programs. REQUIREMENTS Ability to successfully complete a Criminal Records Check Ability to successfully complete Reference Check Current Food Safe Certificate Current Emergency First Aid Certificate (please refer to theCertificates accepted in B.C. - WorkSafeBC) Class 5 Driver''s License Personal transportation that is in good repair, insured for business up to $1,000,000 for liability, and which can be used to transport client COMPENSATIONAs Connective is a unionized environment, the starting wage is $29.17 up to $33.49 per hour. Plus, benefits enrollment as per the Collective Agreement.
