What is the opportunity: The Business Analyst (BA) partners with business stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement by analyzing people, processes, data, communications, and technology. Acting as a facilitator and liaison between business and technical teams, the BA ensures shared understanding of business needs and translates those needs into clear, actionable requirements. What will you do: Elicit, analyze, and document business and stakeholder requirements, translating business needs into clear, practical solutions; support the development of high-level project estimates and timelines. Collaborate with stakeholders to assess current business processes and procedures, identifying strengths, gaps, risks, and opportunities for improvement to enhance efficiency and productivity. Develop and maintain business requirements, functional specifications, and process documentation; apply business analysis techniques such as root-cause analysis, SWOT analysis, and other methods to support informed decision-making. Prepare and maintain documentation, including business requirements documents, process maps, business models, test scripts, Statements of Work (SOWs), and other materials to support organizational activities, the Operational Management System (OMS), Project Management Office (PMO), and data analytics activities. Identify, evaluate, and document opportunities for automation and process improvement, including Robotic Process Automation (RPA), in collaboration with the business and technical teams. Work collaboratively and professionally with cross-functional teams, peers, and leaders to support project delivery and other organizational priorities as needed. Contribute to the development, review, and continuous improvement of Business Analysis standards, methodologies, and best practices, aligned with the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK). Other duties as required What you need to succeed: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Power Suite, Office 365, Visio, and SharePoint. Demonstrated experience with Power Automate. Working knowledge of ASI iMIS is considered an asset. Experience with DevOps is considered an asset. Business Analysis Certificate (e.g., ECBA, CCBA or CBAP). 5 10 years of related experience, education, or equivalent experience required. Related experience in technical writing and training. Experience with the implementation of Change Management processes. Experience in the Energy sector is considered an asset. Knowledge of business analysis tools, techniques and methodologies, and the ability to apply them effectively to support business and technical requirements. Broad knowledge of business operations, processes, and organizational planning, combined with an understanding of information technology resources and enabling technologies. Technical understanding of information systems, including automation, database design concepts, cloud-based technologies, and client/server environments; familiarity with HTML, JSON, and relational database design. Proficiency with Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Power Platform tools (Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps), as well as Microsoft SharePoint. Demonstrated experience identifying and supporting Power Automate initiatives. Analytical skills, including experience analyzing data, drawing business-relevant conclusions, and applying data visualization techniques and tools. Knowledge of and experience with ASI iMIS is considered an asset. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate and build positive working relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Excellent critical-thinking skills, with the ability to objectively analyze information, evaluate options, and make well-reasoned recommendations. Strong presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to explain complex or technical information in a clear and concise manner. Excellent time-management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
