Overview We are seeking a skilled Light Duty / Automotive Mechanic to join our team. As a Light Duty Mechanic with TMMP, you will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing various types of vehicles and equipment at our Shop and Yard in Sparwood, BC. Your expertise and attention to detail will ensure the safe and efficient operation of our fleet. Monday - Friday schedule with OT opportunities Advertised wages are base rates, overtime is paid after 8 hours. . Duties Perform routine maintenance tasks for TMMPs truck fleet and auxiliary equipment fleet; including oil changes, breaks, tire rotations, inspections, etc. Diagnose and repair mechanical issues with vehicles and equipment Conduct thorough inspections to identify potential problems or hazards Use diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems Keep accurate records of all repairs and maintenance performed Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of work orders Maintain a clean and organized work area Be a mentor for our Automotive Service Tech Apprentice(s) Skills Strong knowledge of automotive systems and components Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment Excellent problem-solving skills Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions Strong communication skills to effectively communicate with team members Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment and be a self-starter Experience Journeyman/Red Seal ticket Experience working on a wide variety of vehicles and machinery considered an asset Civil construction, open pit mining, or forestry experience considered an asset Class 5 Drivers license Fit for duty and able to perform manual labour This position provides an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about automotive repair, maintenance, and technical problem-solving to develop their skills within a professional setting.
