This role is primarily field-based, with work performed at customer job sites and occasional shop support as required. Reporting to the Service Manager, the Field Service Technician is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, servicing, and repairing rental equipment in a fast-paced, uptime-driven environment. You will play a key role in ensuring equipment is safe, compliant, and ready for use, while delivering responsive, professional service to our customers. In this position, travelling to sites in and around the Edmonton region will be required and this position will be required to participate in on-call rotation for emergency repairs. What You''ll Do Perform field diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on a wide range of rental equipment Respond to service calls at customer job sites in and around the Edmonton area Complete pre- and post-rental inspections to ensure equipment meets safety, regulatory, and company standards Communicate repair scope, timelines, and recommendations, escalating unresolved issues to the Service Manager and Service Coordinator Work with the parts department to identify and source required parts and materials Accurately complete electronic work orders, inspection reports, and timesheets daily Educate customers and equipment operators on proper use, basic troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance Maintain service vehicles, tools, and diagnostic equipment in safe working condition Participate in an on-call rotation for emergency breakdowns Support shop-based repairs as required during peak periods Perform all work safely while promoting professional, safety-first behaviours Mentor and support apprentices and less-experienced technicians as needed Work collaboratively with other departments Escalate any issues to the Service Manager or Service Coordinator that this role cannot resolve in a satisfactory manner, within the agreed upon service levels Other duties, as required What You Bring Journeyperson Certification for Heavy Equipment Technician Knowledge on working with telehandlers, boom lifts, excavators, skid steers and heaters is required.
