Accounts Payable Manager Reporting to the Sr. Director of Finance, the Accounts Payable Manager plays a pivotal leadership role in overseeing and strengthening The GCs accounts payable systems in both Canada and the U.S. This is a key position ensuring accuracy, efficiency, compliance, and a high level of customer service to ministry partners. Specifically, in this role youd be responsible for: Accounts Payable Leadership Overseeing and approving U.S. and Canadian payables daily for accuracy and compliance. Managing vendor onboarding and ensuring strong data integrity. Monitoring bank balances, AP aging, journal entries, and month-/year-end cut-offs. Preparing and filing U.S. 1099s and Canadian T4As on time. Ensuring consistent application of account codes across teams. Identifying and implementing process improvements and automation opportunities. Team Management Leading daily stand-ups and weekly meetings with staff. Setting priorities, troubleshooting issues, and managing staffing/workload distribution. Building a culture of collaboration, professional growth, and open communication. Maintaining strong internal controls while balancing efficiency. Organizational & Cross-Functional Leadership Collaborating with the Ministry Account Advisor team to strengthen payment processes. Managing the relationship with the organizations wire provider. Updating and managing U.S. and Canadian financial policies and procedure documentation. Leading special projects and contributing to time-to-pay metrics. Discipling and supporting team members in their faith and work integration. What You Bring A bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred). 8+ years progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities. Experience leading or participating in special projects such as new system implementations, process improvements and/or workflow automation. Strong knowledge of Canadian and U.S. Accounts Payable standards, including GST/HST, 1099 reporting, and compliance requirements. Experience with or readiness to work in Microsoft Office, Raisers Edge, Financial Edge, Asana, SharePoint and Microsoft Dynamics. Experience managing internal controls, monthend processes, or AP teams. The ability to manage multiple priorities with calm, clarity, and strong decision making. High ethical standards, professionalism, and financial stewardship. A genuine love for helping ministries flourish through excellent operational support.
