Structural Department Head Canada WideA leading Canadian engineering consultancy is seeking a Structural Department Head to lead a national team delivering hydro and water-retaining structure projects across Canada. This senior leadership role focuses on team management, project delivery excellence, and strategic growth within the structural practice, offering a competitive salary of $150,000$190,000 CAD.Role OverviewProvide administrative leadership to a large team of engineers, technologists, technicians, and scientists focused on structural aspects of hydro and water-retaining infrastructure.Oversee design, assessment, and planning for diverse hydro and water projects serving public and private clients nationwide.Ensure high-quality, timely delivery of consulting services to external clients and internal teams.Key ResponsibilitiesManage staff development, performance, coaching, mentoring, and long-term career planning.Supervise engineering deliverables across projects, tracking performance metrics and resource allocation.Support business development through opportunity assessments, proposals, and client relationship building.Coordinate across disciplines and promote a safety-first culture with proactive problem-solving.QualificationsBachelors in civil/structural engineering (P.Eng. preferred) or equivalent technical background with proven leadership; 15+ years structural experience, ideally in consulting and hydro structures.5+ years managing engineering/technical teams (20+ staff ideal), with strong project management, communication, and client relationship skills.Proficiency in office tools for reports, proposals, and technical documentation.Whats OfferedSalary range: $150,000$190,000 CAD, plus 4 weeks vacation.Employee ownership options available in the near future within an established, employee-focused firm.Competitive benefits, diversity commitment, and accommodations for disabilities.Experienced structural leaders are encouraged to apply in confidence.
