As Commercial Real Estate and Development Manager your responsibilities will include:Leadership and General Management Provide leadership and operations management in overseeing the organizations real estate and operating companies performance to ensure efficiency, profitability and alignment with strategic plans and goals.Provide strong financial leadership in managing budgets and finances, developing policies and cost efficiencies to ensure financial accountability, profitability and integrity.Serve as a strong role model, leader and communicator of the organization, displaying competency, integrity and professionalism at all times with clients, stakeholders and employees.Provide ongoing communication and timely updates/financial reports to the President and Senior Management team. Build trusted relationships, collaborate and work closely with the President and Senior Management team in planning and strategic decision-making.2: Acquisitions and Investment review:Identify prospective land, properties and commercial buildings for sale and/or development.Prepare financial models and business cases to support investment decisions.Conduct due diligence and present findings to ownership.3 Construction and Project ManagementRepresent the ownership during property improvement and development projects. Provide leadership, negotiation and problem-solving support as required to resolve issues, build consensus and align activities to accomplish project goals.Work closely with the Design Team and General Contractor to plan, organize and monitor building projects, ensuring projects are on track from a timing, cost and quality perspective. Monitor contractor invoicing and project budgets.Provide monthly budget updates and progress reports to senior management4: Leases and Tenant RelationsCoordinate with commercial real estate brokers and leasing agents regarding vacancies and current/potential sales and development opportunitiesPrepare and review lease offers, renewals, and amendments for assigned properties.Ensure lease terms align with ownership goals and compliance requirements.5: Property OversightCollaborate with property managers at sites and liaise with third party property management firms.Review and analyze monthly property management reports, operating budget and variance explanations.Provide recommendations to improve operational efficiency and asset performance.6: Budgeting and Financial OversightParticipate in annual budgeting for assigned properties and business units.Monitor performance against budget and identify areas for improvement.7: Operating Company Oversight.Review reporting and performance metrics for operating companies assigned to them.Support and oversee the operations managers within those businesses to ensure efficiency, compliance and alignment with strategic objectives.8: Be adaptable to work on related projects, and demonstrate the initiative to research, learn and expand responsibilities.9: Be involved with the community, build relationships, communicate with customers, community and business representatives to promote the organization. Provide business development, generate leads and promote the expertise/service capabilities of the organization.10: Remain current with new developments and projects, establish professional networks and participate in professional associations. Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.As the successful applicant, you will bring:Post-secondary education in business, finance, real estate or a related field. An equivalent of education and experience will be considered.5+ years experience in commercial real estate, construction/project management and/or property/operations management.Strong understanding of budgeting, financial analysis and business case development. Proven success in increasing business performance and profitability, supported by a passion for the industry.Experience managing construction or capital improvement projects.Demonstrated ability to coordinate across multiple disciplines property management, leasing, construction and operations while maintaining a strong business perspective and representing ownerships interests in all matters.Strong working knowledge of Word, Excel, OutlookHighly motivated and self-driven/directed leader with a proven track record of success and achieving results through people.
