Job Description

Horizon Recruitment is recruiting for a Mine Site Controller to support the restart and growth of a fully permitted operation in the Yukon. This mine is transitioning from care and maintenance into full development and production. As the financial lead on site, youll play a critical role in managing reporting, cost control, compliance, and cash flow, and implementing new systems and procedures ensuring the financial foundation is in place for long-term success. Responsibilities: - Lead all site-based financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, cost control, and compliance. - Track capital spending and align expenditures with approved budgets. - Manage daily accounting processes in line with corporate governance standards. - Prepare monthly financial reports with insightful analysis and operational KPIs. - Drive budgeting and forecasting for annual, quarterly, and life-of-mine plans. - Improve ERP system use and support process improvements across finance workflows. - Forecast cash flow needs and coordinate funding requests with head office. - Collaborate with operations to identify cost drivers and efficiency opportunities. - Guide internal and external reporting cycles and offer financial advice to site staff. - Support procurement compliance and monitor effective working capital use. - Partner with senior leadership to inform financial strategy and decision-making. - Ensure financial data is accurate, timely, and communicated between site and corporate. - Uphold compliance with corporate policies and IFRS standards. Requirements: - CPA designation is required. - Postsecondary education in accounting, finance, commerce, or business. - 7+ years of progressive finance experience in the mining sector. - Experience with ERP implementation is an asset. - Strong financial modeling, strategic planning, and analytical skills. - Confident team leader with the ability to mentor and motivate. - Excellent organizational, communication, and problemsolving skills.
