This seasonal position is anticipated to begin in midApril 2026 and end in early October 2026. This individual contributor role assists with the disease evaluation of experimental varieties and crop breeding materials while gaining practical experience in agronomy. As a seasonal member of our Research, Development and Innovation team, this position has handson experience in the establishment, maintenance, and rating of disease testing plots in Western Canada. This individual contributor role provides administrative support to management by maintaining effective day to day office operations. What Youll Do: Field seed bed preparations and flagging of sites. Seed treatment and setup of seeding envelopes. Seeding of small plot field trials and nurseries. Operating small plot field equipment such as tractors, seeders, sprayers and tillage implements. Applying pesticides to test plots. Adhere to driving laws and safety standards when moving equipment between locations. Assisting in plot rating activities. Fall land preparation, including application of herbicides and fertilizer. Equipment calibration and maintenance. Assisting technicians, agronomists and plant breeders with other duties as required. Assisting with laboratory field inoculum preparations. Actively follow safety procedures, wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. Routinely travel between six Saskatchewan trial sites with occasional overnight travel to Edmonton/Manitoba. What Youll Bring: A High School diploma or equivalent certificate is required. A valid Class5 drivers license with a clean drivers abstract is required. Punctual, reliable and able to work outdoors. Able to stoop, bend, and walk for extended periods of time. A high level of attention to detail resulting in consistent outcomes. Proven problem solving and critical thinking abilities in team and individual settings. Exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills. Small plot field trial experience and/or agricultural or farm experience is an asset. Mechanical aptitude with farm machinery is an asset. Currently enrolled in or finished an undergraduate degree program in Agriculture or a related natural science. Ready to make an impact with us? Apply today!
