Job Description

The following opportunity is a short-term contract role for approximately three months, working 14 hours per week. The Policy Wording Specialist works in a critical role to review, draft, develop and standardize policies and procedures that align CPSA''s Hearing and Registrar functions with the requirements of the Health Professions Act and best practices in regulatory governance. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Review, update and standardize policies and procedures to ensure transparency, procedural fairness and regulatory consistency to meet legislative and administrative legal standards: Assess existing policies, procedures, and reference materials related to the Health Professions Act (HPA) driven activities. Identify gaps, redundancies, and inconsistencies in current documentation and make recommendations for updates. Draft or update standardized policies and procedures for approval. Develop clear templates and formats to ensure sustainability and ease of future updates. Consult and collaborate with subject matter experts, including the Hearings Director, Registrar and Legal Counsel, to confirm procedural alignment and accuracy. Documenting the updates and approval process of policies or procedural updates for legal compliance. In support of continuous quality improvement, review and make recommendations to update processes or procedures within CPSA. QUALIFICATIONS: Required Minimum Qualifications Diploma program in relevant discipline such as Business, Public Policy, Public Administration, Management or Governance 3 years of related experience with policy, procedural development, governance or contract writing Preferred Qualifications and Experience Knowledge of the Alberta Health Professions Act, and professional regulation in Alberta and Canada would be a strong asset. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills Strong analytical skills to support evidence-based decision making Exceptional organizational and prioritization skills; with high degree of attention to detail Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Microsoft Office 365 programs SALARY The bi-weekly salary for this position is $1,027 plus 4% vacation pay for the duration of this three-month contract.
