Intermediate / Senior Interior Designer (Technical Focus) Location: Calgary, AB Type: Full-time, in-office Compensation: Based on Experience About Us We are a busy, established interior design studio specializing in commercial interiors, hospitality, and multi-family projects. Our work is detail-driven, fast-paced, and highly collaborative. We are currently seeking a technically strong Interior Designer to join our studio and support high-quality project delivery. This role is ideal for a designer who enjoys documentation, coordination, and problem-solving, and who can confidently produce complete construction drawing sets with minimal oversight. The Role Depending on experience level, this position may involve leading projects independently or supporting senior designers on complex commercial interior projects. You will be responsible for producing accurate, coordinated construction documentation and contributing to the overall technical strength of the studio. Key Responsibilities Prepare full construction drawing sets, including: Code analysis and coordination Floor plans Reflected ceiling plans (including lighting layouts) Finish plans Interior elevations and sections Millwork and construction details Coordinate drawings with internal team members and external consultants Review drawings for accuracy, consistency, and constructability Respond to markups, revisions, and city comments efficiently Assist with specifications and finish documentation as required Support senior designers and contribute to studio-wide technical standards Required Qualifications 510 years of professional interior design experience Strong AutoCAD skills (required) Proven experience producing complete commercial interior construction drawing sets Solid understanding of Canadian building code and permitting processes Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work efficiently under deadlines and manage multiple projects Collaborative, low-ego approach to teamwork Assets (Not Required) Revit experience SketchUp and/or 3D rendering experience Hospitality, restaurant, and multi-family project experience What We Offer Stable, full-time role in a supportive studio environment Clear expectations and realistic workloads Opportunity to work on a wide variety of commercial projects Competitive hourly compensation based on experience A respectful, professional culture focused on quality and teamwork Job Type: Full-time Pay: From $45,000.00 per year Benefits: Mileage reimbursement On-site parking Application question(s): Describe the most complete construction drawing set you have personally produced.
