Parks Operator (Seasonal) Temporary Full-Time (April November, 2026) J The Town of New Tecumseth is looking for 16 Temporary Full-Time Parks Operators. Why work with us? What we promise: Competitive wages Optional OMERS pension plan Rewarding outdoor summer job Free gym membership at Town recreation centres Reporting to the Supervisor, this position performs all aspects of work related to the day-to-day operations of Parks outdoor facilities including spring, summer and fall maintenance of parks, playgrounds, sport fields, trails, horticulture and turf maintenance. How you contribute to our organization: Maintains the parks and outdoor facilities of the Town including but not limited to the following: Inspects and maintains ball diamonds and soccer fields ensuring that playing surfaces and warning tracks are maintained to established standards. Trims trees and branches as required to keep all grounds in safe and orderly conditions. Repairs, paints and generally keeps in good working repair, all park equipment such as entrance gates, goal posts, bleachers, fences, etc. Ensure that garbage is picked up from Parks and BIA''s Keeps all equipment clean and in good working order. Performs circle checks before using equipment maintain a clean fleet. Inspect, groom, repair, and change garbage on our trail systems, walking paths and parking lots. Start up and shut down outdoor facilities, inspect and clean daily, and repair when needed. Inspect, and maintain skate parks. Identify invasive species in parks, and on our trail systems. Maintains tennis / pickleball / volleyball courts. Set up for community events. Performs fence repairs and maintenance in parks, ball diamonds and open spaces. Baseball maintenance including backstop maintenance, daily infield grooming, ensure pitching mounds are in good standing. Pitching plates and home plates are in good condition. Performs field and turf maintenance. Float equipment for parks and other departments as directed. Operate all equipment safely. Repair and maintain small equipment. What you bring to the team: Requires successful completion of Grade 12 high school or equivalent. Requires a Class G driver''s licence and the ability to submit a clean driver''s abstract. Requires at least 2 years of experience in a similar position with a minimum of 1 year of experience in the operation of all Parks related equipment/machinery. Ability to operate and maintain safely and efficiently truck and trailer combinations, front end loaders, tractors and tractor driven equipment including gang mowers, chainsaws, hand and power tools and other park maintenance equipment. Must be comfortable using electronic devices such as tablets and laptops.
