Job Title

The position of Dispatcher has a variety of responsibilities and duties including answering phones, providing list pricing to customers, engaging walk-in customers when needed, processing customer payments and invoicing. Collaborates closely with plant operators, quality control personnel, and administrative staff. Interacts regularly with drivers, customers, suppliers, and subcontractors. Dispatching: Daily dispatching of ready-mix concrete trucks, concrete pumps, boom trucks and other equipment from Amherst plant. Arrange stock transfers between branches. Communicate with dispatchers of other branches for efficient movement of equipment. Use dispatch software and GPS program. Schedule all truck deliveries for Precast, RM, and Block. Provide front-desk support for incoming inquiries. Customer Service: Maintain good external customer relations. Provide product information and knowledge to customers and the sales team. Provide pricing information and product availability to customers. Visit customer locations to provide support on projects. Sales: Takes orders for concrete and concrete products for the Amherst plant, which may include calculation of quantities and quoting prices for customers. Inside sales, which includes over-the-counter and telephone sales. Communicates special pricing to customers for Precast and Block products. EDUCATION: Grade 12 or equivalent (GED) is the minimum acceptable level of base education. ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE: Previous dispatching experience Three (3) years of office work experience Above average computer skills Strong proficiency in MS Office PERFERED EXPERIENCE: Construction knowledge Syspro Secondary education Because the nature of our business is seasonal, this position is only needed from April to December, working 50 hours per week.
