About the Role We are seeking an experienced, highly organized General Manager to lead a well-established, multi-faceted hospitality business into its next phase of growth and expansion. The business has been operating successfully for 7+ years and includes: A caf A new afternoon happy hour program Development of a new evening wine bar with expanded food offerings A new secret back patio expansion A curated retail space A dedicated event space for private bookings and programming The caf is well established; the wine bar and liquor license will be new additions this year and represent a significant growth opportunity. This role is ideal for a strong hospitality leader who thrives on ownership, structure, and scaling a business with intention. Leadership & Support Structure This is a leadership role with a strong team already in place. You will be supported by: Assistant Manager Caf Operations Assistant Manager Events & Programming Head Chef Kitchen Manager Your responsibility is to lead, align, and elevate this leadership group bringing clarity, systems, and accountability across all departments while maintaining oversight of the full operation. Key Responsibilities: Overall Operations & Leadership Oversee all day-to-day operations across caf, wine bar, kitchen, retail, and events Ensure seamless transitions between service periods Set and maintain high operational and service standards Act as the primary operational leader for the business Financial & P&L Ownership Own and manage the P&L with a focus on sustainable profitability Optimize labour, COGS, and operating expenses Track KPIs and performance metrics Partner with ownership on budgets, forecasting, and financial strategy Restaurant, Bar & Kitchen Oversight Lead the continued development and optimization of the wine bar and food program Work closely with the Head Chef and Kitchen Manager to ensure operational excellence Ensure compliance with liquor licensing, health, and safety standards Continuously improve guest experience, menus, and service flow Retail & Events Oversight Oversee retail operations, inventory management, and margins Ensure events and private bookings are profitable, well-executed, and aligned with brand standards Support the Events Assistant Manager with systems, pricing clarity, and operational guardrails Team Leadership & Development Lead, coach, and support Assistant Managers, Kitchen leadership, and supervisors Build a culture of accountability, clarity, and professionalism Address performance issues directly and constructively Hire and onboard new team members as the business grows Operational Excellence & Detail Management Maintain and enhance clear, scalable operating systems across all departments Strengthen planning, documentation, and communication to support consistency at scale Maintain organized schedules, SOPs, and accountability tools that support high performance Ensure operational precision through disciplined execution and follow-through Business Development, Growth & Expansion Actively champion business development and revenue growth initiatives Identify and execute opportunities across: Evening service and wine bar performance Events and private bookings Retail and new revenue streams Play a key leadership role in future expansion plans, including: New locations Scaled event offerings Additional hospitality concepts Translate growth ideas into executable plans with timelines and accountability Who You Are 5+ years of experience as a General Manager or senior hospitality leader Strong background in full-service restaurants and/or wine-forward concepts Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail Financially confident and experienced managing a P&L Calm, decisive, and solutions-oriented A natural systems-builder who brings clarity where others feel overwhelmed Motivated by growth, ownership, and long-term impact Compensation & Incentives Competitive base salary Quarterly performance-based bonus tied to business development, growth, and operational KPIs Annual profit-sharing bonus based on overall business performance Significant autonomy and trust Opportunity to grow with the business and play a leadership role in future expansion Why This Role Is Unique This is not a maintenance role.
