At Salisbury, we design and build premium residential landscapes that inspire and endure. Reporting to the General Manager, the Landscape Designer is responsible for client discovery, conceptual and detailed design, presenting solutions, and selling residential landscape projects. The Designer guides clients through the creative process while collaborating with the Project Development Coordinator and Operations to ensure smooth execution. This role focuses on design expertise, client relationships, and sales outcomes while technical estimating support, proposal preparation, job readiness, and interdepartmental handoff tasks are handled by the Project Development Coordinator. Key Responsibilities Client Consultation & Design Conduct client consultations at greenhouse locations and on-site as required. Translate client needs into creative, functional, and budget-conscious landscape designs. Develop high-end, innovative designs tailored to premium residential clients. Present design concepts clearly and confidently to clients. Revise designs based on client feedback while protecting design integrity and buildability. Sales & Client Experience Build trust and guide clients through the design and sales process. Price and scope conceptual designs at a high level to support early client alignment. Review and approve final estimates and proposals prepared by the Project Development Coordinator. Lead client walkthroughs during the design phase and at project completion. Maintain a strong referral pipeline and identify new business opportunities. Project Collaboration (Design Project Development Coordinator Operations) Provide the Project Development Coordinator with clear design files, notes, and specifications. Respond promptly to requests for clarification from the PDC to support accurate estimating and proposal creation. Participate in coordinated handoff discussions when design intent requires explanation. Conduct site visits when necessary to ensure design intent is maintained through construction. General Professional Responsibilities Manage multiple clients and design projects simultaneously. Maintain consultation tracking sheets and provide weekly updates. Perform other design-related duties as required to support the landscaping division. Qualifications & Skills Minimum 3 years of residential landscape design experience (portfolio required). Strong ability to present and explain design concepts clearly to clients. Knowledge of Edmonton-zone plant material and landscape construction methods. Understanding of installation practices; in-field experience an asset. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. Ability to manage multiple clients, timelines, and design deliverables. Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, Dynascape, or equivalent) preferred.
