Continuing our growth trajectory from startup days, EarthLabs is excited to expand its team and is currently seeking a dynamic and talented Video Editor to join us. ABOUT THE ROLE As a Video Editor, you will edit a diverse range of videos, including short-form content for social media, podcasts, business interviews, and long-form discussions (See examples: and ). Quick turnarounds are essential for certain projects, due to the timely nature of financial news events. This is an on-site, permanent position based in Toronto, Ontario. WE WILL TRUST YOU TO (KEY RESPONSIBILITIES) Edit Video Footage: Edit a wide range of video content from short-form commercials and promos, to social videos and podcasts to business reports, interviews, long-form discussions, and even some documentary style work. Ensure Quick Turnaround: Manage multiple daily editing projects and deliver high-quality work on time. editing projects daily without compromising on quality. Collaborate with Teams: Collaborate with the production team and managers to align project goals and maintain brand consistency. Follow Brand Guidelines: Apply established visual and editorial guidelines to ensure a consistent, professional look across all content. Enhance Storytelling: Add and refine effects, sound design, and colour correction to enhance the narrative and improve viewer engagement. Stay Updated: Stay current on video content trends, tools, and techniques to continously enhance production quality. Ad Hoc Tasks: Undertake additional ad hoc assignments and duties as assigned. YOU WILL NEED TO BE/BRING (QUALIFICATIONS) Experience: 5+ years of proven experience as a video editor, with a portfolio demonstrating proficiency in both short-form and long-form content Education: Post-secondary in media production, communications or a related field is an asset. Software Proficiency: Expertise in Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Media Encoder. Experience with After Effects and other motion graphics tools is a plus. Attention to Detail: Exceptional eye for detail and the ability to produce polished, professional videos. Soft Skills: Strong time management, organizational skills, interpersonal and communication skills to effectively manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
