We are currently seeking a Cook with Early Childhood Educator Level 1 Certification who is also comfortable supporting on the childcare floor once kitchen duties are complete. Role Overview This role combines meal preparation with childcare educator responsibilities. The successful candidate will prepare nutritious meals for children and then transition into an educator support role on the floor, helping maintain a safe, engaging, and nurturing learning environment. Key Responsibilities Kitchen & Meal Preparation Duties Prepare healthy, balanced, and age-appropriate meals and snacks Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards Accommodate allergies, cultural preferences, and dietary needs Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, storage areas, and equipment Track food inventory and report supply needs Ensure compliance with daycare and licensing regulations Childcare Educator & Floor Duties Support educators in supervising children at all times Engage children in age-appropriate activities, play, and learning experiences Assist with daily routines such as transitions, snack times, and outdoor play Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment Model positive behavior, patience, and respectful communication Support children''s emotional, social, and developmental needs Assist with diapering, toileting, and hand-washing routines as required Follow all childcare policies, health guidelines, and safety procedures Work collaboratively with educators, management, and support staff Communicate respectfully with parents and team members when needed Skills Experience in serving or caring for children, with a focus on safety and engagement Knowledge of food preparation, cooking, and food handling best practices Familiarity with food safety standards within a childcare or food service environment Ability to prepare nutritious meals and snacks tailored to children''s dietary needs Strong communication skills to interact effectively with children, parents, and team members Previous restaurant or commercial kitchen experience is strongly preferred Ability to maintain a clean, organized workspace while managing multiple responsibilities efficiently Successful candidates must be willing to obtain a Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector and First Aid/CPR certification How to Apply Please email your resume to: Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: Up to $40,851.00 per year Benefits: Company events Work Location: In person
