Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Millwright to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing machinery and equipment critical to our production processes. This role requires a strong mechanical background, electrical expertise, and the ability to interpret schematics and technical documentation. The Millwright will ensure that all equipment operates efficiently, safely, and reliably to support continuous manufacturing operations. Shift rotation day and afternoon. On call as needed. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES To comply with all plant quality and safety rules. To ensure you use the proper lockout procedure when repairing machinery. To obtain production and quality levels as specified while working in a manner that is not detrimental to personal health and safety or to the health and safety of other employees. To ensure the proper parts, as specified by the manufacturer, or their replacements, are used. To communicate with the maintenance Manager on ordering parts. To ensure you use the protective screen when welding or cutting in the maintenance shop or production area. To ensure the proper specifications are followed when using the lathe, cutting or grinding. To document all maintenance using CMMS. To help maintain a Preventative Maintenance Program on manufacturing machinery and support services. As required to be available for off-shift repairs to keep a continuous flow of production. To ensure all completed work orders are logged into the CMMS. To train new personnel as required. To maintain a clean and tidy workplace. To perform additional duties or work on special projects as may be assigned from time to time by the Maintenance or Production Supervisor. To establish a good, harmonious working relationship with all employees, thereby making a productive team effort. Maintenance Requirements: 3 years of minimum experience as a millwright (essential). Experience with a unionized environment is considered an asset. Strong knowledge of building trades, cleaning procedures and maintenance. Solid understanding of health and safety regulations and practices. Good organizational and team skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines. Computer literate with capability in email, MS Office and related communication tools. Great time management skills. Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
