Here''s What You''ll Get To Do Provide daily care and maintenance for zebrafish, including preparing feed and performing health checks. Use animal tracking software to monitor and record zebrafish data. Maintain the aquaculture system to ensure proper operation, including daily checks of monitoring devices. Prepare buffer solutions as required. Receive comprehensive training in zebrafish husbandry and aquaculture protocols under the guidance of an experienced Research Technologist. This is a full-time position supporting a multi-user zebrafish aquaculture facility at the SickKids Peter Gilgan Centre for Research and Learning. Essential Requirements Here''s what you''ll need: Ability to work independently without supervision, demonstrate initiative, and apply critical thinking to solve problems. Strong organizational and communication skills, computer proficiency, self-motivation, and a positive attitude are essential. Since this role requires caring for live animals, reliability in terms of scheduling is a must. Understand importance and demonstrates ability to foster a culture of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion. Preferred Requirements Experience in animal husbandry or aquaculture. Previous plumbing and electrical skills. Previous experience in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Preference will be given to applicants with postsecondary education in: Life Sciences (e.g., B.Sc. or Registered Technologist certification), Aquaculture (e.g., Fleming College) or Relevant diploma programs.
