Your Next Challenge Reporting to the Health & Safety General Supervisor, you will be part of the Health & Safety Department. Guide the overall emergency response program. Play a leadership role in promoting a positive Health and Safety culture. Plan, deliver and conduct training for the Combined Surface and Underground Mine Rescue team. Develop and formalize procedures for the Emergency Response Team. Ensure minimum number of active members are present and trained on site at all times. Train senior staff on the overall Emergency Response and Crisis Management system. Maintenance of all Emergency Response Equipment. Facilitate annual fire extinguisher maintenance. Take a lead role in Fire Prevention including training on Hot Work, Hot Work Permits, and Risk Assessments for Designated Hot Work areas. Conduct annual fire risk assessment. Maintain a visible presence in the field to build trust, identify prevention opportunities, and provide realtime support to workers. Lead debriefs of the Emergency Response Team following ERT deployment. Work collaboratively with the onsite Clinic to ensure prompt medical response. Assist departments with the development of ERPs for their buildings and work areas. Other duties as directed from time to time. What you need to succeed Hold a WSCC Surface & Underground Mine Rescue Instructor Certificate or ability to obtain it quickly. Active Surface & Underground Mine Rescue. ICS 100, 200, 300 is considered an asset. Experience with NFPA 1010, 460, or 402 for Aircraft FireFighting. NFPA Instructor certifications for 1001 and 1041 are considered an asset. Standard First Aid is required, with advanced or firstaid instructor being considered an asset. Eligible for a Nunavut Underground Supervisor Level 2 Certificate. Previous training experience is considered an asset. Experience in the mining industry. Working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint. Your Work Schedule Schedule: 21 days of work, followed by 21 days for transportation and rest. Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee.
