Tax Manager - Private Tax (High Net Worth) - Toronto Location: Toronto Date: Jan 16, 2026 Overview As a Tax Manager, you will be part of our GCR-Private Tax practice. You will work with highnetworth clients, private organizations, business owners, charities/nonprofit organizations, and individuals on domestic tax planning, estate, philanthropic, wealth transfer, and postmortem planning strategies. Our GCR-Private Tax practice works closely with transaction tax, international tax, and assurance teams. Key Responsibilities As a manager you will be responsible for: reviewing corporate, personal, trust, charity and nonprofit tax returns; reviewing compiled financial information; recommending and implementing tax strategies that align with the clients objectives; corresponding with tax authorities on client issues; researching planning issues; and corresponding with legal counsel. Skills and Attributes for Success Review corporate, personal, trust, partnership, charity/nonprofit tax and information returns and related compliance filings Review compiled financial information Identify planning opportunities for highnetworth clients, including estate, philanthropic, wealth transfer, and postmortem planning strategies Research client issues that arise from planning or compliance work using a variety of online sources Liaise with the Canada Revenue Agency and relevant provincial ministries on client issues Correspond with EY teams and/or clients in answering clients specific personal, trust or corporate tax queries or matters that arise from compliance or planning work Prepare and/or review tax election forms Assist with and manage the administration of personal and trust tax compliance seasons Liaise with clients legal counsel Qualifications An undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting and/or other appropriate academic major 5+ years of relevant tax experience or equivalent experience in business or industry Possess a Canadian CPA designation Completed or enrolled in the CPA InDepth Tax Courses (or equivalent) Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills Demonstrate ability to work as part of a team Possess organization and timemanagement skills Ideal Additional Experience The ability to thrive within a fastpaced, professional services environment Two to five years of experience advising highnetworth and owner/manager clients in a variety of areas including corporate, personal, trusts and estate tax matters.
