Managing Director & Team Lead, Credit Structuring Apply for the Managing Director & Team Lead, Credit Structuring role at BMO in Toronto. Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada. New Team Lead position for Business Property Finance team to colead a large team and drive business growth. The Business Property group focuses on operating realestate businesses including hotels, seniors/retirement segments, storage facilities, student housing, parking and film studios. BMO is uniquely positioned as the only large Canadian bank with a specialized coverage team to support these sectors. Responsibilities Leveraging advanced deal structuring expertise to negotiate loan terms and structure loans balancing client requirements with the banks risk appetite and policies. Signing off on new, renewal, and extension loans in alignment with credit qualifications. Conducting comprehensive portfolio monitoring and performance analysis, including covenant compliance and client industry trends, to identify risks and opportunities. Leading the development and implementation of advanced capital allocation strategies, leveraging market insights and portfolio analysis to optimize investment returns. Overseeing financial and risk analysis to make informed creditgranting decisions and assess portfolio health. Handling escalated client concerns and service requests, ensuring expectations are consistently met or exceeded. Building and maintaining a portfolio of strong relationships that ensure a superior client experience and drive financial performance. Leading complex proposal development and delivering presentations to acquire clients or win business. Advising on strategic business priorities, resource allocation, and change initiatives to ensure successful execution of key strategies across commercial banking functions. Engaging with industry peers and networks to gather competitive insights and best practices, applying this knowledge to maintain a competitive edge. Structuring and supporting new, renewal, and extension loans aligned with client needs and bank risk policies. Conducting financial analysis and risk assessments of clients credit information for an assigned portfolio, providing insights and making informed decisions. Monitoring portfolio performance on an ongoing basis and taking corrective action when required. Minimizing BMOs risk exposure by adhering to credit policies, regulatory standards, and operational guidelines. Serving as a point of contact for service requests, ensuring expectations are consistently met or exceeded, and escalating issues when needed. Supporting and implementing initiatives to enhance service quality, acquire new business, and expand client relationships. Identifying revenue and crossselling opportunities to enhance portfolio growth. Leveraging analysis tools to nurture and grow a portfolio that exceeds ROE thresholds and evaluates client returns proactively. Managing timely and accurate data entry into BMOs systems and leveraging the data to support decisionmaking. Fostering a culture aligned to BMO purpose, values and strategy and rolemodeling BMO values and behaviours. Ensuring alignment between values and behaviour that fosters diversity and inclusion. Connecting work to BMOs purpose, setting inspirational goals, defining clear expected outcomes, and ensuring clear accountability for followthrough. Qualifications Preferred 9+ years of relevant experience in credit or lending instruments or financial operations in a corporate or banking environment. Bachelors degree required; masters degree preferred. Business Administration, Finance and Accounting preferred; other related disciplines or commensurate work experience considered. Creditqualifying position requiring compliance with credit qualification and associated credit knowledge and skills as per credit portfolio requirements and qualification standards. Seasoned expert with extensive industry knowledge. Technical leader viewed as a thought leader for innovation.
