Why were looking for you We are looking for a missiondriven Senior Backend Engineer who is passionate about building reliable, highimpact systems and takes pride in owning complex problems end to end. This role is ideal for an engineer who wants to be a technical leader on businesscritical backend systems - someone who understands how product strategy, data, and infrastructure come together to drive real customer outcomes at scale. This role is 100% remote and can be based anywhere in the United States or Canada. For San Franciscobased candidates - we also have a new HQ in the Presidio for optional inperson collaboration. Frontend: React, Next.js, Vue Backend: Node.js, Mongo Typescript everywhere The impact you will have Build new products and features from 0 to 1 Take ownership of projects from conception all the way to shipping, ensuring modular, maintainable, and highquality code Deliver value to our end users across our entire system while considering performance, scale, security, and maintainability Shape our product direction by talking to users and collaborating with other teammates in feature brainstorms/roadmap planning Provide thoughtful code reviews and technical guidance to peers, helping to improve overall team quality Help us build a great team interview candidates, refer great engineers, etc. What were looking for 5+ years of experience building and operating backend systems in production Strong experience with TypeScript and backend technologies: Node.js, databases, distributed systems Demonstrated ownership of systems running at scale, with an emphasis on reliability and performance A productoriented engineering mindset you understand the why behind what youre building Experience collaborating closely with Product and Design partners Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to identifying and solving problems A sense of ownership, curiosity, and commitment to continuous learning Nice to have experience in one or more of the following Ecommerce or consumer platforms Loyalty or rewards programs Marketing or lifecycle systems Largescale, hightraffic consumer systems Pay and benefits The estimated starting base salary range for this role is $190K-220K depending on level, location and experience, plus a generous preIPO equity package Other benefits include comprehensive health coverage, work from anywhere (remotefirst workplace), unlimited PTO - plus extra fun perks!
