The role is specific to the National Accounts segment of Canadian Business Banking and focuses on managing a portfolio of higher complexity customers with credit authorizations >$25MM and annual sales >$100MM. Responsibilities Analyze, structure and present credit/financial solutions/proposals within the defined market area. Recommend pricing for loans and creditrelated fees that yield a return commensurate with risk and due regard to profit, administration and competitive considerations. Restructure marginal proposals into bankable deals where possible. Provide guidance, coaching and counsel to Directors, Origination so they may better serve clients needs. Review all written authorizations to ensure accuracy, completeness and clarity. Follow up promptly for acceptance of the authorization and react swiftly to any problems, amendments, extensions, reporting to senior management and Directors, Origination where necessary. Address issues surrounding adequacy, quality and completeness of loan documentation and security. Ensure the accurate execution and delivery of authorizations prior to disbursement of funds. Qualifications University degree in Business, Economics or related field. At least 8 years commercial or corporate banking or credit risk management experience. Familiarity with loan syndication, global capital markets and banking lending policies. Strong credit assessment and risk management skills; ability to structure complex deals. Excellent understanding of loan documentation and financial statements. Expertise in Canadas financial services marketplace and knowledge of key industries and competitive positioning. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills; ability to influence and motivate others. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and other planning tools. Commitment to participate in other training requirements as determined by the Bank. Skills Expert knowledge of commercial banking products and services, including systems, routines and operating procedures. Thorough knowledge of Banks business lending and deposit products and services, and customer profitability model. Strong analytical and problemsolving skills. Excellent risk assessment and credit skills and ability to structure deals. Expert sales management, coaching, relationship building and leadership skills. Strong interpersonal skills essential for business development/customer relationship building and to facilitate a positive and effective team environment. Must be able to effectively articulate views to all levels both within the Bank and externally in the marketplace. Working knowledge of services provided by support areas such as Shared Services Business Support Centre.
