About The Role Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Director of Operations oversees Studio Operations through a Studio Manager at each location and an F&B Manager overseeing Tonic Bar and Tonic House operations. The role maintains executive responsibility for F&B strategy, income statement, merchandise sales and cost management, and all operational cost centres related to FOH and BOH operations. The Director will also hire a Commissary Manager to oversee an offsite commissary kitchen and laundry facility. This is a MondayFriday onsite role; however, the business operates seven days a week, opening as early as 6am and closing at 10:30pm, so outsideofregularhours work is expected. Primary Job Responsibilities Strategy & Budgeting Own the strategic development and execution of operational and F&B business plans aligned with Sweat and Tonics strategic objectives. Develop and manage annual budgets for F&B, retail, FOH, and BOH operational cost centres across all studio locations. Analyze and optimize income statements related to F&B and merchandise sales, driving profitability through strategic pricing and expense management. Identify and implement new revenuegenerating opportunities and costsaving initiatives. Operations Oversight Oversee studiolevel operations through direct reports, ensuring consistent execution of high standards across all locations. Establish and enforce operational procedures and quality standards for Front of House and Back of House departments. Monitor studio performance through KPIs and operational audits, proactively addressing performance gaps or inefficiencies. Lead expansionrelated operations planning for new location launches or upgrades. Ensure enforcement of studio penalties and the Code of Business Conduct and policies relating to complimentary attendance. Food & Beverage Lead the strategic vision, planning, and execution of Tonic Bar and Tonic House concepts across locations. Maintain oversight of all F&B financial performance metrics, including revenue, COGS, labor, and waste. Develop supplier relationships to ensure product quality and profitability. Collaborate with F&B Managers on service standards, inventory systems and ensure F&B operations meet brand, health, safety, and service standards. Collaborate with the Commissary Manager on menu development, logistics and cost management. Retail & Merchandise Direct the companys merchandise strategy, including product curation, pricing, visual merchandising, and sales optimization. Monitor inventory levels, sales trends, and supplier performance to maximize revenue while minimizing markdowns or overstock. Work closely with the marketing team to align merchandise promotions with seasonal campaigns and brand initiatives. Leadership & Team Development Build and inspire a culture of high performance with accountability, growth, and collaboration. Build highperforming operations and F&B leadership teams. Oversee recruitment, training, and performance management of direct reports and contribute to leadership pipeline development. Champion crosslocation consistency while supporting localized execution where appropriate. Communication & Collaboration Serve as a senior liaison between the COO and studiolevel operations, ensuring the strategic direction is communicated and implemented effectively. Collaborate with leaders in Events, Marketing and Finance to align on and meet shared goals and initiatives. Ensure timely and effective communication of policies, process changes, and companywide updates to relevant teams. Customer & Brand Experience Maintain ultimate responsibility for ensuring that the guest experience across all locations delivers the Sweat and Tonic mission. Evaluate and implement new systems, tools, or technologies to enhance the customer journey and operational efficiency. About You Fitness and wellness is a priority. 5+ years managing a P&L of $10million or more in annual revenue. 5+ years with direct or indirect reporting responsibilities for 30 or more team members. Strong financial acumen. Skills in data analysis and Microsoft Excel. Experience and comfort with a wide range of operational software. Strong attention to detail. Thrives in the absence of a rigid schedule in a rapidly changing environment. Works well in a fastpaced, highdemand environment. Possesses excellent critical thinking and analytical skills. Takes a handson, teamfirst approach to leadership. A degree in business management or a similar discipline is an asset. Prior experience in a highvolume fitness environment is an asset. Prior experience in a highvolume F&B environment is an asset. Compensation And Benefits Base salary $110k$150k per annum (dependent on experience).
