The Opportunity We are seeking a temporary Director, Talent to lead Coruss enterprise talent strategy across three core pillars: Doctor transitions & development, network-wide talent attraction, and enterprise learning & development. Reporting to the Vice President, People, Culture & Communications, you will lead the programs that shape how doctors and team members join, grow, and thrive at Corus. Youll work closely with the CEO and Executive Leadership Team, Partner Doctors, and cross-functional leaders to design, elevate and execute the programs that underpin our long-term clinical and organizational success. Overseeing a team of six talented professionals, this is a pivotal, high-impact role at the intersection of Human Resources, Strategy and Operations. This is a temporary, full-time, hybrid position from our Toronto or Calgary office for 14-18 months. What You Will Love Doing Doctor Transitions & Development: Leading Coruss doctor transition strategy through to execution, including long-range workforce planning, onboarding, doctor readiness, and partner transitions across the network. Designing, enhancing, and scaling programs that support doctors through every stage of their career with Corus, from associate doctor entry to partnership and beyond. Overseeing assessment frameworks and hiring processes for associate doctors to ensure the right talent enters the network at the right time. Developing programs that strengthen our brand and support associate doctor growth, including rotational development, mentorship, and compensation frameworks. Fostering strong, trusting relationships with doctors at all stages of their careers. Talent Attraction Leading enterprise-wide recruitment strategy and operations for doctors, team members, and home office roles, including talent pipelines, referral programs, and early talent initiatives. Amplifying Coruss employment brand to reach a broader talent pool, leveraging technology, marketing channels, and data-driven insights to attract and engage top talent in the market. Driving strategic stewardship of talent attraction efforts across the network, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities, workforce planning, and long-term growth. Learning & Development Leading enterprise-wide orientation and onboarding programs across the network, supporting both clinical and professional development. Designing and scaling practical learning programs for doctors, clinical and home office roles to build capability and drive performance in line with our network priorities. Overseeing leadership development initiatives to cultivate current and future leaders across the organization. Enhancing network-wide collaboration by fostering shared learning, knowledge exchange, and best practice adoption. All About You: 10+ years of progressive human resources or operations leadership roles, including both formal leadership roles and non-authoritative leadership of cross-functional or project-based teams. Demonstrated track record for building, mentoring and developing teams. Strategic thinking capability combined with strong execution skills to build a high-performing, solutions-oriented Talent function. Proven experience leading mentorship and development programs or initiatives, ideally for doctors and clinical staff in orthodontic, dental, or multi-site healthcare environments. Experience in doctor/clinician workforce planning, recruitment, transitions, onboarding, integration, and career progression. Strong project management skills with experience managing complex, cross-functional programs from conception to execution. Exceptional communicator and influencer, able to build trusted relationships, bring stakeholders along, gain buy-in, and navigate sensitive conversations while remaining calm and solution-focused in complex or ambiguous situations. Comfortable balancing strategy and execution - you can build frameworks and roll up your sleeves to get work done. Proven ability to thrive in an agile and entrepreneurial environment with a bias for action and results. Energized by designing programs that help doctors grow, succeed, and feel deeply connected to Coruss mission, while bringing structure and clarity to complex challenges. Hands-on understanding of orthodontic or dental practice operations is preferred, including clinical workflows, treatment consultation management, and team integration, to inform effective transitions and development programs.
