The Opportunity: The Program Support Services Manager is responsible for the coordination and scheduling of programs that provide a variety of meaningful activities to meet the physical, psychological, social, emotional and/or spiritual needs of residents. What Is In It For You Supports Resident Documentation Requirements including Resident Assessment/Reassessment, Care Planning, MDS Coding, and Progress Notes. Supports resident and family councils. Maintains a calendar of recreational & social activities that support the interests, needs and cultural diversity of residents. Coordinates/facilitates recreation programs, special events, outings & entertainment. Coordinates the Volunteer Program including student and coop placements. Coordinates religious and spiritual program opportunities. Responds to resident or family member concerns and ensures appropriate action is taken within decisionmaking authority and/or brings to the attention of the Administrator. What You Will Need A postsecondary Degree or Diploma in a related field such as Kinesiology or Gerontology and related experience specific to providing recreation and leisure services in a healthcare setting, preferably with seniors. Provincial certification for safe food handling. Certificate in Volunteer Management is preferred.
