Transmission Line Engineer Arup Locations: Houston, Dallas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Austin Responsibilities Perform engineering design and delivery of HV transmission line projects for power utilities and interconnection of renewables and data centers. Prepare complete transmission line design packages including design basis, plan and profiles, structure framing and assembly drawings, phasing diagrams, guy and anchor details, grounding details, material specifications and data sheets, staking tables, stringing schedules, and bills of materials. Perform studies and calculations including conductor sizing and selection, electrical clearance calculations based on NESC, lightning performance and grounding. Provide construction support and interdisciplinary coordination. Qualifications Bachelors degree in Engineering from an accredited university. Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) preferred. Proven 4+ years experience in 15kV through 345kV overhead transmission design and PLSCADD operation. Demonstrated experience with the NESC, RUS, and/or GO90 codes. Knowledge regarding survey, easements, rightofway, and permitting. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively to achieve agreed goals and results. Excellent communication skills able to interact with clients, regulatory bodies, vendors, and internal stakeholders. Willingness to travel occasionally as needed. Ability to prioritize work effectively, manage deadlines, and organization skills required for rapidly changing environment.
