Overview The Department of Management at the University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM) invites applications for a full-time tenure stream position in Accounting at the rank of Assistant Professor, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2026. This appointment is within the tri-campus University of Toronto framework, with crossappointment to the Rotman School of Management Accounting Area and collaboration with the St. George Campus. Responsibilities Establish an innovative and independent research program that is externally funded and complements existing departmental strengths. Engage in high-quality research suitable for top-ranked journals and present work at significant seminars and conferences. Contribute to teaching across graduate and undergraduate programs; develop and teach courses, and provide strong teaching evidence through the teaching dossier, evaluations, and materials. Supervise graduate students and participate in doctoral training within the department. Collaborate with faculty and graduate students across the Rotman School of Management and other campus units as part of crossappointment arrangements. Qualifications A completed PhD in Accounting or a closely related area at the time of application. Demonstrated mastery of research methods (theory, empirical, or experimental) and a record of excellence in teaching and research. Evidence of research excellence through publications in top-ranked journals or forthcoming work meeting high international standards, a strong research statement, conference presentations, awards, editorial activities, or endorsements from referees. Evidence of teaching excellence through a teaching dossier, including a teaching statement, sample course materials, and teaching evaluations or equivalent evidence; strong referees endorsements are welcome. Appointment and Environment Successful candidates will join UTM Management as part of the broader tri-campus network (Rotman, UTM, and UTSC) under the Graduate Department of Management. Crossappointment to the Accounting Area of the Rotman School of Management enables collaboration with faculty and graduate students at the St George Campus.
