Machine learning (ML) and Large Language Models (LLMs) will be one of the main pillars of this technological transformation. The primary customers for the EPD team at Ascend will be the staff of Ascends partner firms and their clients. Reporting to the Director, Product Engineering, the Senior Product Engineer will play a key role in building highly impactful, AIpowered products for our engaged customer base, using the latest LLM technologies. Youll work alongside a highperforming team of engineers, product managers, and designers to develop solutions that redefine how accountants workand in doing so, help reshape the cost structure of the industry. Key Responsibilities Contribute directly to delivering on Ascends AI strategy by building intelligent, userfocused products powered by LLMs Drive forwardthinking development by experimenting with tools that improve engineering velocitysuch as modern IDEs, AIpowered coding assistants, and automated testing/review platforms Build the technical foundations needed to support ML and LLM experimentation, including realtime evaluation frameworks, observability tools, and humanintheloop workflows. Develop robust, scalable systems that support rapid product iteration, while ensuring uptime, performance, and stability Champion best practices in coding, testing, security, and scalabilityhelping to establish highquality, repeatable engineering processes Collaborate closely with product and design teams, and contribute to clear, structured communication with technical and nontechnical stakeholders to help shape product direction Qualifications 57 years of experience in software development Proven experience working in highperforming software engineering teams, ideally in AI/MLdriven environments Deep understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs), Machine Learning (ML), and AIdriven applications Experience with modern software development tools, including AIpowered development environments, automated code generation, and agentic tools Strong proficiency in architecting and designing scalable, secure, and highavailability software solutions Handson experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, and modern DevOps practices Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Elixir, Python, TypeScript, Golang, Rust, or similar Strong knowledge of microservices architecture, API development, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.) Experience in building AIpowered products from scratch and launching them successfully to market Strong understanding of software velocity and iterative development, particularly in fastpaced startup or growth environments Track record of delivering AIfirst software solutions with a focus on usability, security, and scalability Excellent ability to communicate technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders, including executive leadership Strong strategic thinking and problemsolving abilities, with a focus on driving business outcomes through technology Passion for working in an agile, collaborative environment with crossfunctional teams, including Product Management and Design What You Can Count On (We live by our values) Own it: We seize growth opportunities with the passion, speed and accountability of an entrepreneur.
