BBA Consultants invites you to join as a Senior Mechanical Engineer Hydropower . Overview of Your Future Role at BBA Youll join our team of about 20 turbinegenerator specialists, working on hydroelectric projects across Canada. Youll be based at our MontSaintHilaire or Qubec City office. Youll play a key role in all phases of engineering projects, ensuring exceptional technical quality of deliverables. Occasional site visits will also be part of your responsibilities. Youll identify and develop new business opportunities as they arise. Finally, youll serve as mentor to support the growth of our Hydropower team. Key Responsibilities Manage and perform various mechanical projects for turbines, generators, mechanical speed governors, bearing lubrication and cooling, balancing and alignment of rotating parts, hydromechanical valves and balance of plant for refurbishment projects and new hydroelectric powerplants / pumped storage projects Play a leading role in client communications for your mandates Be a key team member in executing small to major modernization or new installation projects Solve complex problems related to mechanical components in hydroelectric power plants Identify, plan and organize client needs to assess the condition of their units and conduct power upgrade studies (turbines and generators) Lead onsite inspections, diagnostics, commissioning and testing Represent your area of expertise and promote it to potential clients and specialized groups in the hydropower sector Mentor and coach junior and intermediate engineers by actively sharing your knowledge and encouraging skill development within the team Foster a workplace culture that promotes having fun while delivering highquality professional work Desired Qualities and Culture Fit Inspirational leadership Constantly seeking sustainable and agile solutions Clientoriented and resultsdriven Strong intrapreneurial and entrepreneurial skills Efficient, both on site and at the office Job Requirements University degree in mechanical engineering From 15 to 25 years of relevant experience in the hydropower sector Relevant experience with inspections, condition assessments, installation, commissioning and testing Must be a registered P.Eng. with the Ordre des ingnieurs du Qubec (OIQ) or another Canadian province Drivers licence Advanced English to facilitate collaboration with BBA offices and clients in anglophone provinces and internationally; frequency of English use may vary from occasional to daily depending on current projects BBAs Total Awards Annual base salary Annual premium program for regular employees Access to a time bank Onsite mobility premium Cellphone Program Group insurance plan starting day one including shortterm and longterm disability insurance for regular employees and telemedicine program Retirement saving plan for regular employees Vacation and sick leave Premium offered through the Employee Referral program Benefits Serve as a mentor to our next generation: We invest in our people and help them develop Be part of a collaborative team that shares its ideas and technical knowledge Join a growing business with many opportunities Promote our field service expertise, both internally and externally Participate in innovation projects About BBA For over 45 years, weve been pushing the boundaries of engineering to serve our clients in the Energy and Natural Resources sector.
