Job Description

Senior Architect Critical Facilities As a Gensler Project Architect Critical Facilities, you will collaborate with Practice Area Leaders and Design Directors to develop design solutions and coordinate through the construction documentation phase of projects. What You Will Do Collaborate on design projects in critical facilities, life sciences, and healthcare practice areas through programming, conceptual, schematic, design development, and documentation. Work with consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies to meet overall project objectives. Coordinate documentation with structural, MEP, lighting, AV, acoustical, accessibility, and building envelope specialists. Assist in resolving complex technical and design issues. Manage client expectations, team communication, and consultant coordination. Provide project team coordination for finished plans, specifications, and material selections required for construction. Participate in construction administration, review submittals, and finish samples. Qualifications Bachelor''''s degree in Architecture from an accredited school. Licensure required. 10+ years of experience in architectural design. Experience within Critical Facilities projects (e.g., data centers, command and control centers, high-performance computing, etc.) or similarly complex projects (e.g., science/labs/national labs, high-tech manufacturing, healthcare, aviation & transportation). Proficiency with SketchUp, 3D Max, Bluebeam, and Adobe Creative Suite is preferred but not required. Strong Revit and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) experience desired; Enscape also beneficial. Experience managing multiple aspects of client, team, and project coordination, including full documentation coordination with structural, MEP, lighting, AV, landscape, and civil consultants. Experience working directly with contractors. Experience resolving complex technical and design issues. Experience performing zoning and code analysis in multiple jurisdictions. Understanding of how buildings are constructed, along with the ability to create technical documents that succinctly, thoroughly, and accurately describe the work to be done. Understanding of sustainable and universal design concepts. Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and relationship management skills. Previous experience in sustainable design projects preferable (e.g., LEED, Living Building Challenge, WELL Building Standard, Fitwel, and/or Net Zero Building certification).
