Were looking for a dynamic and experienced Tech Lead with deep expertise in SaaS application development, particularly using Python and/or Rave, to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of our Jeppesen Crew applications. This role blends handson development with strategic leadership, mentoring developers, and aligning technical execution with longterm business goals. You will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining crew planning and dayofflight applications that meet the needs of our clients and users. Responsibilities Lead the technical design, development, and implementation of Jeppesen applications. Act as the primary technical point of contact for Jeppesenrelated initiatives, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and standards. Collaborate with Product Owners, developers, business administrators and scrum masters to cocreate user stories, define acceptance criteria, and balance technical feasibility with business priorities. Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning, backlog grooming, and technical reviews. Partner with the internal and external development teams to deliver highquality, scalable solutions. Execute handson development and configuration of Jeppesen''''s crew planning and rostering software using the Rave rulebased modeling language and Python. Define and evolve technical strategy, including CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps principles, and release automation. Mentor junior developers, conduct thorough code reviews and evaluate test plans and unit test scripts to uphold quality, reliability, and maintainability standards. Ensure platform scalability, performance, and security, including data integrity and compliance with privacy regulations. Evaluate and recommend new Jeppesen features and technologies to enhance platform capabilities. Manage integration with other enterprise systems and data sources. Maintain documentation for architecture, design decisions, and technical processes. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across the Jeppesen ecosystem. Ensure adherence to Air Canadas SDLC, ITIL, and cybersecurity frameworks. Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders. Participate in crossteam initiatives to set technical guidelines and promote consistency across pods and platforms. Lead postrelease activities including debugging, performance tuning, and incident resolution. Qualifications Required Bachelors degree in computer science or related field. Minimum 5+ years of experience working with SaaS applications in a technical capacity. Strong understanding of RDBMSs (Oracle, DB2, MySQL, MS SQL Server, etc.). Experience providing technical oversight on software development in Visual Studio and understanding of operations research or optimization concepts. Solid understanding of data security, access controls, and compliance within SaaS applications. Proficient in the Linux environment. Experience with Git and other development tools. Employ a testdriven development methodology, including developing automated test cases, and collaborate in crossfunctional teams. Ability to translate business requirements into scalable and secure technical solutions. Excellent analytical, problemsolving, and communication skills. Strong communication skills with the ability to align technical decisions across teams and explain concepts to nontechnical audiences. Experience working in Agile environments and participating in sprint planning and technical reviews. Demonstrate punctuality and dependability to support overall team success in a fastpaced environment. Assets Familiarity with Jeppesen applications such as Jeppesen Crew Pairing, Jeppesen Manpower Planning and Jeppesen Crew Tracking. Experience with Jeppesen proprietary rulebased programming language called Rave and Python. Exposure to complex airline policies and Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs). Familiarity with AI development tools such as Cursor or GitHub Copilot. Strong communication skills and an interest in the airline business.
