Current Rate of Pay : Min $ 72.86- Max $ 91.08 Current Shifts : Primarily Days Position Summary Reporting to the Vice President of People, Strategy and Community, the Director provides strategic, operational, and administrative leadership for Laboratory Medicine and the Medical Device Reprocessing Department (MDRD). The role ensures high-quality, timely, and reliable diagnostic and reprocessing services across multiple specialties, including biochemistry, hematology, transfusion medicine, microbiology, pathology, point-of-care testing, and medical device reprocessing. The Director promotes a culture of excellence and safety, ensures compliance with Accreditation Canada Diagnostics standards and CSA standards for medical device reprocessing, and maintains laboratory accreditation. This position drives innovation in digital pathology, automation, point-of-care testing, and reprocessing technologies while fostering strong partnerships with clinicians, staff, and regional health system partners to enhance patient care. The Director is accountable for comprehensive budget oversight and resource stewardship for both Laboratory Medicine and MDRD. Minimum 7 years of progressive leadership experience in Laboratory Medicine Experience in leading Medical Device Reprocessing operations preferred Demonstrated knowledge of Accreditation Canada Diagnostics standards, CSA standards for reprocessing, and best practices. Demonstrated ability to lead teams Demonstrated knowledge of accreditation standards, regulatory frameworks, quality assurance programs, and Ministry of Health Laboratory Licensing. Proven experience in strategic and capital planning, including acquisition and implementation of laboratory instrumentation and digital technologies. Exceptional leadership, communication, and relationship management skills with the ability to influence and engage diverse stakeholders. Strong financial acumen and experience managing complex budgets across multiple departments. Strong track record of leading teams through change, fostering collaboration, and advancing continuous improvement practices (such as LEAN).
