Senior Director, Transportation and Infrastructure Policy Join to apply for the Senior Director, Transportation and Infrastructure Policy role at Toronto Region Board of Trade . Position Description The Toronto Region Board of Trade (the Board) is seeking a forwardlooking Senior Director of Transportation and Infrastructure Policy to join our dynamic team to advance and enable the Boards ambitious policy and advocacy agenda. This role will provide leadership for priority initiatives such as congestion, movement of goods, a comprehensive multimodal mobility ecosystem, and files related to land use such as transitoriented communities. The position will lead and manage subject matter experts/consultants and leverage a crossfunctional team to develop practical policy solutions and advance their implementation to catalyze action that addresses key business pain points holding back investment, growth, and jobs. The ideal candidate is comfortable switching between highlevel strategy development, driving impactful policy solutions and detailed project implementation work. An understanding of the transportation, transit and infrastructure ecosystem would be an asset. Role Description Leads the development and implementation of the Boards policy and advocacy agenda regarding transportation and infrastructure, including crosswalks to land use and transit. Convenes thoughtleaders, business leaders, regional partners, and experts to inform policy initiatives, identify gaps and determine Board actions that will have an impact on the business community, the public sector, and senior decisionmakers. Works closely with departments across the organization to identify opportunities to catalyze our policy positions and harness the Boards convening power. Leads the program development of policy specific events, including roundtables and policy events with an objective to advance the Boards policy and advocacy agenda. Works collaboratively to develop policies and implementation plans to activate policy initiatives through advocacy, partnerships, and coalitions. Your Experience Includes Degree in economics, political science, business administration, public administration or related areas. 7+ years in government, a lobbying organization, an agency or a policy organization. Interest in and knowledge of public policy at all three levels of government. Experience working with government offices and their respective agencies. Direct experience working on transit, housing, infrastructure and land use files is preferable. Familiarity with the various policy voices in the Toronto Region; including the broader business community, likeminded organizations and all three levels of government. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in print and in presentations. High standard for written work. Writing samples may be required. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work crossfunctionally to meet deliverables. Ability to work in a cooperative fashion with policy colleagues and those in other areas of the organization including Events, Communications & Marketing, Sponsorship & Membership.
