Please visit www.rcmusic.com for more information. What is the Opportunity? The Associate Director is responsible for the daytoday operations of the Oscar Peterson School of Music (OPSM). This role is accountable for the accurate and timely management of related financial reporting functions and processes. The Associate Director provides leadership and oversight for the development, implementation, management, and efficient operations of the various processes related to all OPSM programming areas and systems including academic records, student registration, and faculty management. Main Duties & Responsibilities Working with the Dean, prepares the annual budget for OPSM. Monitors budgets closely, addresses variances and revises forecasts as required. Develops and updates various financial/nonfinancial reports as required on a regular and adhoc basis for the Dean, Senior Management, and Board as required. Collaborates with Dean on the development and implementation of the annual business plan and the tuition model. Reviews and approves staff/faculty payroll for processing. Authorises and reconciles regular operational school expenditures. Manages thirdparty vendor relationships, independent contractors, etc. School Administration and Management Administers annual controls, set up, and maintenance of the Student Information System (SIS). Leads SIS enhancement and maintenance planning with RCM IT application development team. Works with the Dean and the Academic Scheduling department to establish annual OPSM class and event scheduling requirements. Reviews and analyses current processes and policies; identifies and implements areas for optimization and efficiencies. Staff and Faculty Management Oversees and directs daily workflow, including ongoing projects and makes necessary adjustments to priorities. Adheres to all relevant articles in the Collective Agreement to determine allotments, seniority, postings, etc. Manages and evaluates performance; provides training and coaching as required. Oversees OPSMs recruitment process with HR, participating in the selection process, and compiling all relevant and required HR documentation. Provides a safe and healthy work environment and ensures work is completed in compliance with The Occupational Health & Safety Act and its regulations and the RCMs policies. Performs other related duties as required. What Were Looking For Bachelors degree in a related field plus, a minimum of 5 years of progressive financial/operations experience. Possesses strong analytical skills, financial acumen, and has a solid experience managing large and complex budgets, and tracking and analysing data. Demonstrated leadership experience with an ability to engage and motivate others to achieve results. Exceptional communication skills (verbal & written) with internal and external stakeholders at all levels. Knowledge of music education and/or an understanding of the standards and content associated with the Royal Conservatory system of music education would be considered an asset. Experience with Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, Power Point). Salary Range $80,000 84,500 per annum. Additional Information Work arrangement includes working on site a minimum of four (4) days per week. The role will have two (2) direct reports and one (1) indirect report. Availability to work weekends and attend onsite activities on Sundays is required. Works with confidential issues and data. A Vulnerable Sector Check is a required condition of employment.
