Lightmatter is (re)inventing the future of computing with light! About This Role We are hiring an ElectroOptic Systems Architect. You will collaborate with both external partners and internal engineering teams to develop and deliver innovative, highvolume photonics products. In this role, you will design and define advanced architecture solutions, working closely with crossdisciplinary teams to model, analyze, and optimize system performance. You may also test and measure prototypes to validate models and design assumptions. Success in this role requires deep expertise in silicon photonics process technologies, advanced photonic designs, highspeed (40+GHz) electrooptic interfaces, lasers, and packaging/assembly techniques. Strong creativity, analytical problemsolving, and effective communication are essential. You may also represent Lightmatters technical leadership by publishing research and presenting at premier industry conferences. Responsibilities Creative problemsolving and innovation to realize highperformance optical interconnect and datacom products. Codesign and specification of photonic integrated circuits with analog front ends and SerDes. Electrooptic modelling of optical transceivers combining photonics, electronics, and signal processing simulation tools (e.g., Cadence Virtuoso, Keysight ADS, VPI Systems, Ansys Lumerical, Python, Matlab). Validate the models by designing experiments, conducting experiments, and analyzing existing data. Actively collaborate with electronics and photonics engineers to specify, design, and validate circuits that meet performance, power, and production requirements. Research and evaluate emerging optical interconnect technologies. Document and present your contributions. This is not a complete listing of the responsibilities. Qualifications A Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline with at least 5years of relevant experience, or Masters degree with at least 8years of relevant experience. Minimum 4years of experience in silicon photonic transceiver electronicphotonic codesign and cosimulation. Minimum 2years of experience in systemslevel SerDes modelling of optical transceivers and links. Proficient in Python, Matlab, Cadence Virtuoso, Cadence Spectre, VerilogA, Keysight ADS, VPI Photonics, and photonics design tools. Experience in highspeed electrooptic measurements and hardware bringup. Experience collaborating with photonics and electronics teams. Preferred Qualifications Experience in product development or projects with industry. Demonstrated strong problemsolving skills specifically to problems that do not have obvious solutions. Strong publication record. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Willingness and ability to learn quickly. Selfstarter with a no task is too big or small attitude.
