Overview AtkinsRalis is seeking a Health & Safety Specialist (H&S Compliance Inspector) to join our team. This position is based onsite, out of Mississauga, and seeks professionals to help construct one of the most advanced, sustainable and passengerfriendly airports in the world. The successful candidate will report to the Senior H&S Officer (Construction) Specialist. The purpose of this role is to support the project achieving toptier Safety results by interfacing across all project teams, establishing solid relationships, providing leadership on Safety elements, conducting inspection, audit and verification activities of own and contractor/subcontractor systems, analyzing safetyrelated data, and developing processes for continual improvement of Safety performance. Your role Conduct regular site inspections to verify compliance with legislation, project procedures and operational requirements. Coordinate with contractors to ensure compliance with program safety requirements, including reporting, compliance checks, and Incident Investigation. Provide subjectmatter expertise, advice, and guidance with respect to relevant health and safety matters across the program. Work collaboratively with the contractor to confirm that the measures set out in the projectspecific safety plan are effectively implemented. Undertake periodic assessments / audits across sites and prepare detailed reports with documented findings, identify opportunities for improvement and recommend corrective actions. Monitor and track safety performance trends and escalates significant noncompliance to management level for escalation to the appropriate decision makers. Coach, mentor, and support the career development of staff. About You Diploma/certificate in health and safety and/or equivalent training experience. Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in onsite health and safety role (compliance, inspection, coordinator, onboarding and training, and/or reporting). Strong knowledge of construction legislation, regulations and industry best practices. Extensive experience working within construction environments; major infrastructure/aviation program experience is considered an asset. Demonstrable experience in developing and implementing effective health and safety management plans. Strong stakeholdermanagement skills and comfort working with the owner, consultants, and contractors.
