The successful candidate will demonstrate strong cloud capability to design and manage scalable, secure, and efficient data infrastructure across technology platforms (cloud and onprem), ensuring seamless integration, storage and access to enterprise and operational data. The Data Architect will define the data architecture and support system integration to enable business transformation, influencing the organizations cloud and data strategy to enable datadriven outcomes. The project involves key technology systems contributing to missioncritical operations and business continuity. The role is based at our Project Office in Toronto, requiring office presence Monday to Friday each week. Your Role Understand business requirements, roadmap and success criteria to define the data architecture and document the integration design that will set the development team up for successful delivery of transformative business outcomes. Collaborate with senior business stakeholders to secure strong engagement and ensure project delivery aligns with longerterm strategic roadmaps. Design a scalable data architecture in Azure and Microsoft Fabric to empower business with reusable and trusted data assets that are costefficient. Architect data pipelines and solutions across a complex ecosystem of >250 applications (onprem, SaaS, multicloud) and outsourced environments, delivering realtime and predictive data in the right format to the right frontend application. Interpret and deliver impactful strategic plans improving data integration, data quality and delivery to support business initiatives and roadmaps. Support the design of the structure and layout of data systems, including databases, warehouses and lakes. Recommend the right cloud solution, define data schemas, optimize storage and establish data access controls and security measures. Support the implementation of longterm technology strategy and innovation roadmaps across analytics, data engineering and data platforms. Design and implement ETL processes from various sources into the organizations data systems. Translate highlevel business requirements into data models and appropriate metadata, test data and data quality standards. Lead and participate in peer review and quality assurance of project architectural artefacts across the EA group through governance forums. Work with IT teams, business analysts and analytics teams to understand data consumers needs and develop solutions. Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies for data management, storage and analytics. About You Bachelors degree in computer science, data science, engineering or related field. At least 10 years of experience designing and implementing data integration solutions for enterprise data and AI initiatives, preferably in Azure. At least 5 years of experience architecting and building data pipelines in Azure using Azure Event Hub and Azure Data Factory. At least 5 years of experience architecting and building solutions with Azure Synapse, PySpark and Power BI. Mandatory technical certifications: Azure Fundamentals Azure Solutions Architect Expert Azure Developer Associate Azure AI Engineer Associate Azure Administrator Associate Azure DevOps Engineer Expert Proficiency in modern data integration models and concepts in Microsoft Azure, realtime data distribution (Kafka, Dataflow) and modern data warehouse tools (Databricks, Synapse, Microsoft Fabric). Passion for datapowered decisionmaking utilizing a modern Azure architecture. Ability to think strategically and communicate technical decisions and recommendations to nontechnical stakeholders.
