The Senior Financial Analyst will report to the Controller and will be responsible for developing budgets, forecasts, and financial models, analyzing performance trends, and providing actionable insights to management. Key Responsibilities Budgeting & Forecasting Process ownership of annual budgets and rolling forecasts. Collaborate with department heads to gather assumptions and validate inputs. Perform scenario modeling and sensitivity analysis to support strategic decisions. Financial Analysis & Reporting Translate a complex business model into clear financial metrics. Perform variance analysis between actuals, budgets, and forecasts, and provide recommendations to improve underwriting profitability. Identify trends, risks, and opportunities to improve financial performance. Prepare monthly and quarterly reports highlighting relevant KPIs and provide comments on business developments. Modeling & Decision Support Build financial models to support strategic initiatives and business cases. Conduct scenario and sensitivity analysis considering regulatory changes and market conditions. Incorporate actuarial inputs (loss reserves, premium projections) into financial models. Collaborate with Underwriting and Risk Management to ensure models reflect all relevant business dimensions. Strategic Support Support longterm financial planning, capital allocation decisions, and solvency monitoring. Evaluate business cases for new projects, investments, and initiatives. Conduct profitability & cost analysis by product line, distribution channel, and region. Compliance & Governance Ensure adherence to accounting standards (IFRS) and internal controls. Maintain documentation for budgeting and forecasting processes.Communicate with the Controller on work status and financial issues. Process Improvement Recommend enhancements to financial planning processes and tools. Support automation and efficiency initiatives within finance. About You University degree in accounting or finance. CPA, CFA, or equivalent designation preferred. Experience in MGA or insurance industry preferred. 5+ years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, or corporate finance. Advanced knowledge and proficiency in Excel with financial modeling; experience with BI tools is an asset. Knowledge of Windows and MS Office applications including Office 365. Working knowledge of SAP desired. Aptitude for figures, strong analytical and investigative skills. Ability to thrive under pressure and adhere to challenging deadlines.
