The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing daytoday accounting operations, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards. This role requires strong knowledge of Sage software, as well as extensive bookkeeping experience across multiple industries. Path to Controller The role is to learn the business, add to financial process and get up to speed with our client''''s business. To deliver on overall Bookkeeper responsibilities. Then move to Controller. Managing the day to day with the path and goal to be promoted to Financial Controller. And once stepping up to full Financial Controller, the company will then add a bookkeeper (who will report to you) This position reports to the CFO and works closely with the CEO. What you will do: Maintain accurate and uptodate financial records, including general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. Process invoices, payments, expense reports, and bank reconciliations. Prepare and post journal entries in Sage. Manage payroll processing and related government remittances. Reconcile accounts monthly and prepare supporting schedules. Assist with the preparation of financial statements, yearend closing, and audits. Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax filings, and regulatory requirements. Monitor cash flow and provide accurate financial reporting to management. Support external accountants and auditors with required documentation. Implement process improvements to enhance financial accuracy and efficiency. What you will bring: Minimum of 10 years of professional bookkeeping experience. Proven expertise in Sage accounting software (Sage 50, Sage 300, or equivalent). Strong understanding of accounting principles, payroll, and tax compliance. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications. High attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and handle sensitive financial information with discretion. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Preferred Assets: Experience working in multientity or multicurrency environments. Previous exposure to manufacturing, consulting, or servicebased industries. Knowledge of Canadian accounting standards and regulatory compliance.
