Job Description The Regional Account Director will strategically oversee this key group segment to identify and book meeting and incentive business for Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, Fairmont Pacific Rim and Fairmont Waterfront. The Director is an expert in the West Coast market, has strong, longstanding relationships with influencers and decisionmakers both at the client level and through thirdparty planners. What Is In It For You An inclusive, empowering, and positive company culture where people are at the heart of everything we do Competitive pay, starting at $95,000 with annual compensation reviews based on market, performance, and capabilities Extensive benefits package: health, paramedical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance for those meeting eligibility requirements Companymatched pension plan and opportunity to enroll in a Group Registered Retirement Savings Plan, if eligible 10 days of paid vacation earned each calendar year, increasing with length of service; 12 statutory holidays and paid birthday leave Travel reimbursement program for a TransLink monthly pass Complimentary meals during your shift via our Colleague Dining Program Complimentary drycleaning of business attire Access to the Pacific Northwest Food & Beverage Discount Program 50% off at dining destinations in Vancouver, Victoria, and Whistler Colleague benefit card offering discounted room and food & beverage rates at Accor properties worldwide for you and your family Complimentary hotel stay for newly hired colleagues with breakfast for two through our BE OUR GUEST program Learning programs through our Academies to sharpen your skills Opportunities to make a difference through our Corporate Social Responsibility activities The chance to have fun at work with passionate hospitality professionals committed to a welcoming world The opportunity to work in a luxury hotel environment within a Vancouver heritage building with a historic legacy dating back to 1939 What You Will Be Doing Achieve and exceed assigned sales goals Convert business opportunities into definitive bookings Increase business opportunities through proactive business development Implement and execute strategic sales plans Conduct routine & timely calls on assigned accounts Organize and lead client events, site visits & business development trips Participate in training, industry trade shows, and sales trips Collect market and competitive intelligence to maximize group sales opportunities Build relationships with Accor Global Sales Office, industry partners, meetings industry, DMCs, attractions, and offsite venues Partner with sister hotels to optimize Accor exposure and build business Utilize Opera Sales System to track, solicit, book and followup on accounts Quote and negotiate rates within established parameters Coordinate and followup with event services and other hotel departments to ensure delivery of promised services Supervise training and development of assigned Sales Coordinator Support group sales team and handle special projects as assigned Participate in departmental/selfguided training and development Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports as required Communicate and represent customers and booked events at each hotel; host sites, attend leadership meetings, preseason & precon meetings, ensuring strong sales presence while customers are onsite Promote ALL Meeting Planner program; follow departmental policies and safety policies Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service to internal and external customers Support the goals, objectives and philosophies of Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, Fairmont Pacific Rim and Fairmont Waterfront Embody AccorHotels values: Guest Passion, Sustainable Performance, Spirit of Conquest, Innovation, Trust & Respect Follow departmental policies and safety policies Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications Minimum of five years hotel sales experience required Bachelors Degree and/or Hotel Management Degree preferred Multiple years of experience in a senior sales role in a luxury hotel environment Multiple property sales experience an asset Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Computer literacy in Opera Sales & Catering/SFA System (or other CMS), Microsoft Office, Cvent, LinkedIn Goaloriented, competitive and well organized Strong interpersonal and problemsolving abilities; proactive sales role model Ability to analyze financial data to create winning group strategies and solutions Positive attitude, firm and supportive, teambased approach to ensure attainment of short and longterm goals Ability to travel and work flexible hours and days Location The role is based at Fairmont Hotel Vancouver. The candidate will be required to facilitate important customer activities at the downtown Vancouver properties and may need additional business travel. Visa Requirements Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
